Ice Rink Closure Policy
Certain conditions may close the ice-skating rink. Here’s what to know:
- Mechanical Failure – Issues with equipment like the Zamboni or chillers.
- Rain – Rain causes unsafe conditions and can injury to skaters; closures will be determined by the forecast.
- Warm Temperatures & Humidity – Warm weather, high humidity, or temperature swings can create unsafe or damaging conditions, possibly leading to extended closures.
Severe Cold Closure Policy
The safety and well-being of our staff and guests is our top priority. In the event of extreme cold weather conditions, we may close the rink to protect everyone from potential harm. Closure decisions will be based on a combination of factors, including:
- Wind Chill: Dangerous wind chill values that pose a risk of frostbite or hypothermia.
- Road Conditions: Poor or hazardous driving conditions that may impede travel to and from the rink.
- Low Attendance: In severe cold, reduced attendance may make it unfeasible to operate.
- Ice Conditions: Extremely cold temperatures may affect the quality of the ice and compromise safety.
We will make closure decisions with consideration for these factors, ensuring the rink remains a safe and enjoyable environment. Updates will be provided as necessary via social media, and we will reopen when conditions improve.
